Pet Memorial to a Horse: Mr. Dillon |

Once-In-A-Lifetime Horse
Mr. Dillon was in that rare group of "once-in-a-lifetime-horses". I’ve been
truly gifted to have owned this wonderful pony for nearly ten years. He
was proud, with the "look of eagles" in his eyes, courageous, very
competitive.
When he went in the show ring, he exuded confidence, as if
saying "Watch me. I’m special!".
 | Mr. Dillon
1980 to Jan. 21, 2001 | He was also beautiful, highly
intelligent, curious, playful and very good at unlatching doors and
snaps, picking locks and breaking out of stalls and paddocks.
He was an
excellent judge of character-being extremely discerning, he bestowed his
affection on very few (you all know who you are).
He was always fun to ride, whether out alone on a trail, or during the
year we competed in combined training, or doing the hunters, he was the
perfect sports partner.
Most of all, he was my friend. "Dillon", I
miss you terribly but you will live in my heart forever and our bond has
not really been broken; I’ll see you again.
DON’T CRY FOR THE HORSES
Don’t cry for the horses
That life has set free
A million white horses
Forever to be
Don’t cry for the horses
Now in God’s hands
As they dance and they prance
To a heavenly band.
They were ours as a gift
But never to keep
As they close their eyes
Forever to sleep
Their spirits unbound
On silver wings they fly
A million white horses
Against a blue sky.
Look up into heaven
You’ll see them above
The horses we lost
The horses we loved
Manes and tails flying
They gallop through time
They were never yours
They were never mine.
Don’t cry for the horses
They will be back some day
When our time has come
They will show us the way
Do you hear that soft nicker
Close to your ear
Don’t cry for the horses
Love the ones that are here
