Newsletter for 2-8-03

Outlines community features available only to registered members and links to recent articles. Not a member yet? You can register here. It's FREE to join our community. This is our first newsletter, so bear with us if there are some mistakes. We apologize if you have received the test messages. We are trying to work the bugs out of the member features of our system. Also, if you have suggestions on what you would like to see in the newsletter, or more of on the web site, please do let us know.

We now have 21 members in the PetandWildlife.com community. Now that we have the bugs worked out of the member registration form (we hope) so people can actually join, hopefully our membership will begin to grow. New members should now receive their password right on the site instead of having it sent by email. If you are still having problems logging into the site, please drop us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

We still have many animal categories which don't have articles yet. If you are knowledgable about a particular animal, feel free to post your own articles. The site is set up so you don't need to know any HTML, but you can use it if you know how. Initially, we will screen an author's first few articles, then when we are satisfied that they are posting articles which would be of interest to our readers, and there aren't too many grammar and spelling errors, we will authorize regular contributors to edit and post their own articles directly whenever they want. You may add a four or five line signature on the bottom of your articles, plugging your web site or favorite cause, but please don't go overboard with this.

Due to security concerns, you can't upload images at this time, but if you have one you want included in your article or the free picture collections, send it to us IN THE BODY of an email (we automatically delete unopened all email with attachments, unless we've specifically requested them), and we will upload the image for you. Be sure to give the title and URL of the article you want it included in.

We also have a new member's Journal feature where you can post whatever you want. We won't do any editing on the Journal pages. You can make them private, or set them to be viewable for other community members, but they won't be viewable by non-registered visitors.

You can read news headlines from a drop down box on your personal page. There are still a lot of links to computer stuff in there right now, but we are working on replacing those news feeds with more animal subjects.

From your "Your Account" page, you can also broadcast a short message to all members of the site, which will appear for ten minutes on the site, or send private messages to other members.

If you come across any problems with the site, please let us know. We are working hard trying to clean up the backend code, and trying to organize and improve the navigation.

Well, that's about it for now. See you next time!
